Background to TEXT CAMP
TEXT CAMP is a three-stage program involving workshops, a mentorship program and a publication outcome. Presented in association with Express Media and un Projects, TEXT CAMP provides opportunities for ten emerging writers to work with and learn from established writers, to build networks and contribute to critical and creative discourse around the 2008 Next Wave Festival and contemporary art practice more generally. Comprising two parallel teaching streams that explore either creative writing or critical writing methods, TEXT CAMP engages the many ways that artworks and performance projects can be responded to through writing. With the program running before, during and immediately after the Festival, look out for TEXT CAMP: the 2008 Next Wave Festival Reader in contemporary art spaces around the country in July 2008.
