Imagine Me & You, I Do
Installation, New media, Visual art
Imagine Me & You, I Do is a two-part project in the centre of Melbourne: a neon sign mounted on the exterior of St Paul’s Cathedral and, just around the corner in high-end fashion store Alphaville, an installation of photography, text, artist books and drawings.
The works in Imagine Me & You, I Do have an intimate, poetic and questioning relationship with their very loaded exhibition sites, inviting viewers to re-evaluate their relationship to the spaces they inhabit and move through in the course of daily life. Melancholic and introspective, yet also engaging and empathic, they describe a certain sense of disconnection between ourselves and the world. Ultimately, Imagine Me inspires its audience to question the impact that institutions have on their ideas of self and space.
