Moving architectural intervention
A quirky, curious and nomadic intervention, Esky combines architecture, art, video, sound performance and spontaneous adventures. Inspired by our vernacular ‘portable cooler box’, not to mention the local drinking custom, Esky is an unexpected inflatable venue that will occupy periphery and unconventional urban spaces.
Check “www.whereisesky.com”“http://www.whereisesky.com for location details, or SMS the word ‘ESKY’ to 0428 477 128 to find the location each night.

About the artist/s:
Christie Petsinis is an architect interested in art, urban culture and the environment. She has initiated, curated and participated in a swag of inter-disciplinary projects over the past five years, and after a stint of studying architecture in Helsinki, she initiated and curated Hang 12, an exhibition of 12 Australian artists’ works on surfboards to promote awareness of our ocean environment.
Christie’s undergraduate thesis explored the historical and cultural significance of Melbourne’s Nicholas Building, a building famous for its burgeoning creative population. The Nicholas Building manuscript evolved into an exhibition at Blindside gallery celebrating the building’s 80th birthday, an ABC Radio National documentary and a series of articles and academic papers. Christie currently lives in Melbourne and works for Denton Corker Marshall architects.
Keg de Souza is a Sydney based visual artist with a background in architecture. Her practice is more often than not collaborative, participatory and inter-disciplinary. Some of the many mediums she works across include time-based art, sculpture, illustration, bookbinding and printmaking.
Keg is a founding member of the activist/artist collective SquatSpace (www.squatspace.com), the Network of Un-Collectable Artists (NUCA, www.uncollectables.net) and co-initiated and organised the If You See Something, Say Something exhibition, workshop and publishing project (www.ifyouseesomethingsaysomething.net).
Keg is currently researching for an exhibition project on gentrification and urban change and is very interested in the politics of space. (You could say she has her finger in many pies.)
